ব্যাখ্যা : যোৰহাটক অসমৰ প্ৰথম ধঁপাত নিষিদ্ধ জিলা হিচাপে ঘোষণা কৰি ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় ধপাত নিয়ন্ত্রণ আঁচনিৰ অধীনত ২০১৪ চনৰ ১০ জানুৱাৰীত দেশৰ আদৰ্শ জিলাৰূপে প্ৰদৰ্শন কৰা হৈছিল । যোৰহাটৰ প্ৰায় ৯০ শতাংশ কার্যালয় বর্তমান ধঁপাতমুক্ত। জিলাখনত চিগাৰেট আৰু ধঁপাতজাতীয় সামগ্রী আইন, ২০০৩ ৰ ৪ নং দফা (ৰাজহুৱা স্থানত ধূমপান নিষিদ্ধকৰণ ) কাৰ্যকৰী কৰা হৈছে। 

Explanation: Jorhat was declared the first tobacco-free district in Assam and demonstrated as a model district in the country on January 10, 2014 under the National Tobacco Control Scheme. About 90 per cent of the offices in Jorhat are currently tobacco-free. Section 4 of the Cigarettes and Tobacco Products Act, 2003 (Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places) has been implemented in the district.
